(Southeastern IN) – An extreme heat watch will be in effect from Noon Sunday until Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service says dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 104 are possible.
Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity combined with very warm low temperatures can be especially hazardous since the overnight hours provide little relief from the heat.
Forecasters say the extreme heat may continue into Wednesday.
Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
You’re urge to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
