Sunman Vintage Baseball Showcase

April 17 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Sunman Vintage Baseball Showcase will take place on Saturday, June 1st at the Sunman Community Park. The featured game will be the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings vs Cincinnati Buckeyes.

The Cincinnati Red Stockings are set to ignite the dusty base paths
of Sunman, Indiana with a showdown against their friendly foes, the
Cincinnati Buckeyes, in an exhibition game brimming with
nostalgia and old-school flair. Playing ball by the vintage rules of the
1860s, especially the revolutionary guidelines of 1869, these spirited
ballplayers channel the legacy of the renowned Cincinnati Baseball
Club. With echoes of the past ringing through the air and history
whispering tales of undefeated seasons and daring challenges across
the nation, the stage is set for a truly retro-inspired clash on the
diamond.

There will also be other events for all ages. Such as the Little League Scrimmage games, Home Run Derbies, Silent Auctions, and food and retail vendors. Little League games will begin at 10 AM with registration at 9 AM. The silent auctions will begin at 10 AM and the winner will be announced during the featured game. The Home Run Derbies will begin at 11:30 AM with registration at 9 AM and will have the following age groups: 7-10, 11-14, 15-17, and 18+. The derbies will also have trophies and cash prizes.
