Elvin Robert “Bob” Volz, 97, of Milan passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Ripley Crossing. Bob was born on Friday, March 9, 1928, in Sunman; son of Ed H. Volz and Stella (Ross) Volz. Bob married the love of his life, Shirley Mae (Schaefer) Volz, on November 4, 1961, and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2022. Bob worked for 32 years at Seagrams and also worked on his family farm. He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and VFW Post 3183 in Batesville. He enjoyed hunting, antique cars, and farming. He was an avid card player and also enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling.
Bob will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Shirley Volz; wife Shirley Volz; brother Edward Volz; and sisters Edna and Dorothy.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Bob from 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM with Father Binu Matthew officiating. Burial will follow at St. Pius Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Bob to St. Pius Catholic Cemetery or Mass at St. Charles Catholic Church.
