Elizabeth Jean “Betty” Riddell, 90, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Friday October 2, 2020 in Aurora, IN.
She was born October 13, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Thomas Fortner and Viola (Jameson) Fortner. She was a Cafeteria worker for South Dearborn School Corporation, retiring after over 20 years of service. She took classes to be a tax preparer.
Betty and her husband enjoyed camping and were members of the National Camping and Hiking Association. Betty was on Hogan Township Fire Department Auxiliary and the High- Low Homemakers Club. She enjoyed floral arranging, cake decorating, caning chairs, bird watching and watching “The Big Bang Theory” on television.
Elizabeth “Betty” is survived by her loving family, sons, Lonnie (Faye) Riddell of Aurora, IN, Rick Riddell of Aurora, IN; daughters, Sudie (Bobby) Werner of Aurora, IN, and Judy Von Holle of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Brian Riddell (Lori York), Brad Riddell (Ann Marie Metz), Becky (James) Adams, Rob (Christina) Werner, and Tim (Kim) Werner; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, Thomas Fortner, mother, Viola Jameson Fortner, husband, Leonard Jackson Riddell, brothers, Robert Fortner, and, Harry Fortner.
Friends will be received Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at theRullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Private Services will be following visitation.
