Elijah Jakob “Jake” McGuire, age 16, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 28, 2003 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late Nichole D. McGuire that passed away after giving birth to Jake on July 9, 2003 due to pulmonary hypertension that he was also diagnosed with. Jake was adopted by Nichole’s parents Roy Clifford McGuire, II. and Heidi (Goff) McGuire. Jake was home bound due to his illness and was currently a junior at Switzerland County High School. Jake enjoyed going to the Switzerland County Public Library where he attended the Anime Club. Jake also enjoyed playing video games and was called the “Army Guy.” He also enjoyed making sauces for food, drawing, fishing, camping, riding his four-wheeler and being outdoors. Jake was currently working on getting his drivers permit that he was so proud of. Jake’s family appreciates everyone that has been here for them throughout his life especially Chuck Gosnell, Lisa Estes and Sheila Goff that stayed with them at the hospital until Jake passed away at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jake will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Heidi Ann (Goff) McGuire and her companion, Glenn Gosnell of Vevay, IN; his maternal grandmother, Charlene Goff of Vevay, IN; his brother, Kyle-Nicholas James McGuire of Vevay, IN; his sister, Shana-Leisa Olivia McGuire of Vevay, IN; his niece, Nevaeh McGuire of Vevay, IN; his special cousin, Lily Ignacio of Vevay, IN and his several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Clifford McGuire, II., died January 14, 2019; his birth mother, Nichole D. McGuire, died July 9, 2003; his sister, Amanda Joanne “Mandy” McGuire, died August 17, 2007; his maternal-grandfather, Samuel Ronnie “Ron” Goff, died December 11, 2012 and his nephew, Logan Joseph McGuire, died August 17, 2007.

A Celebration of Jake’s Life will be conducted Friday, January 17, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Union Cemetery, Moores Hill, Indiana.
