(Southeastern IN) – There is an elevated fire danger this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say relative humidity falling to between 15 and 25 percent this afternoon and southeast winds of 10 to 20 mph with some higher gusts will result in an increased risk of fire start and spread.
You’re urged to exercise caution if handling open flames or equipment that creates sparks, and you should dispose of cigarettes, matches, and other flammable materials in appropriate containers.
Any fire that gets started could grow out of control under these conditions.
