Eleanor Elizabeth Peter, 95, of Dillsboro passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Eleanor was born Monday, November 12, 1923 in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of Adolph and Katherine (Braun) Vierling. Eleanor retired from American Linen Company in Cincinnati, OH and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dillsboro. She was in the Lutheran Women’s Mission League at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and senior citizens of Dillsboro.
Eleanor is survived by daughter Kathy Rahn of California; 1 grandchild Thomas Rahn; sister Catherine Scholle of Dillsboro; nephews: Larry (Janet) Scholle and John (Sandy) Vierling and nieces: Jeanne (Mark) Vaal and Jean Wood; great nieces and nephews: J. Byron (Jill) Scholle, Melissa (Justin) Setzekorn, Brandon (Denise) Scholle, Eric Vaal and Heidi Vaal; and several great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steven Jack Peter and brothers Emil and Frederick Vierling.
A graveside service celebrating her life will be held 1 PM Monday, June 17, 2019 at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220 with Pastor Richard Kolaskey officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in honor of Eleanor to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dillsboro.
