Eileen Marie Ogden, age 90 Osgood

Eileen Marie Ogden, 90, of Osgood, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, surrounded by the love of her family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Eileen was born on April 15, 1935, in her family home in Osgood to Roy and Myrtle (Kaster) Jenks. She spent her entire life rooted in the community she loved, growing up in Osgood and proudly graduating as an Osgood Cowboy.

After attending business college in Cincinnati, Eileen began what would become her “forever career” at Home Federal Savings Bank. Starting on the north side of Osgood and later moving to the south-side location, she dedicated more than 20 years to the bank, retiring in 2000 as lead teller. She took great pride in her work and treasured the lifelong friendships she made along the way.

Faith and service were important parts of Eileen’s life. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she was active in the Church Women’s Association. She also gave back to her community through the Osgood Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and spent many years serving on the Osgood Beautification Committee.

Eileen was an avid reader with a sharp mind that stayed strong until the very end. On Christmas Eve, she could still be found playing games and laughing with her great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she stayed closely connected through daily phone calls with those she loved most.

On May 5, 1956, Eileen married the love of her life, Gene “Genie” Ogden. Together they built a life and raised three children in the family home, where Eileen continued to live after Gene’s passing in 2004. Their home was filled with love, routine, and memories that spanned generations.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her daughter, Cindy (Ben) Bryan of Naples, Florida; her son, Greg (Monica) Ogden of Osgood; her brothers, Ronald “Sonny” (Janey) Jenks of Milan and Rick (Anne) Jenks of New Albany; her grandchildren, Bryan Pemberton, Ashley Abedrabbo, Lindsay Cotton, and Jessica Ogden; and her many great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene; her son, Jeff; her grandson, Jeremy; and her sister, Shirley Dunbar.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Osgood, with Father Bill Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund, in care of Neal’s Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at nealsfuneralhome.net.
