Edgar D. Painter, 79, of Milan died on Monday, December 14, 2020, at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.
Edgar was born in Clermont County, Ohio on March 17, 1941, to William and Catherine Painter. After graduating from high school, he served his country in the United States Army. Edgar married Mildred Riegelsberger on December 31, 1987 in Cleves, Ohio. Edgar had been employed by CSX Railroad and retired with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed collecting guns, camping, and doing yard work.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, Edgar is survived by three children: Cyndi Mather and Michael of Ohio, Jeffery Painter and Megan of Ohio, and Craig Bays and Tracy of Indiana; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth and Jeanie; and several nieces and nephews. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Dick Allen; and two sisters: Janet and Rosey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home ~ 107 Vine Street Sunman. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
