Earl Keith Phillippe entered this life on August 17, 1932. He was born to William Franklin Phillippe & Claytie (Owens) Phillippe, in Walltown, Kentucky.
He married the love of his life, Nita May (Wheeler) Phillippe on January 18th, 1952. This marriage of 70 years brought forth 3 children, Gerald Keith Phillippe (Deceased), Earl Daniel Phillippe (Deceased), and Holly Marie Phillippe (Stephen Zimmer) of Lexington, Kentucky.
Earl served 29 years in the US Army as a Staff Sargent 1st Class. He served during the Korean War and was stationed in Berlin, Germany for 2 years.
He was a member of the Osgood, Indiana Legion Post 267 for the past 25 years, a member of the Delaware Fire Department for 29 years, and a member of The Dearborn County Beagle Club for several years.
Earl retired from Batesville Casket Company, where he was employed as a line supervisor for 30 years.
Earl enjoyed raising and running beagle dogs, playing euchre, cornhole, horseshoes, volleyball, and softball. He was an avid UK Basketball & Cincinnati Reds fan and loved watching the games on TV. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents William & Claytie Phillippe, 8 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 sons.
He is survived by his wife Nita May Phillippe of Delaware, Indiana, his daughter Holly Marie Phillippe of Lexington, Kentucky, his granddaughter Diana (Raymond) Wieczorek Gomez of Holton, Indiana, his grandsons, Adam Phillippe of Hope, Indiana, Martin (Mindy) Roberts of Hindman, Kentucky, Noah Wieczorek of Lexington, Kentucky, Daniel (Reagan)Feeley of Gulfport, Mississippi, and 6 great-grandchildren, Branson Phillippe, Bentley Phillippe, Addison Phillippe, and Raven Gomez, Lylith (Lilly) Gomez, and Juniper Gomez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 4-7 pm., at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral Services will be held also at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood, Indiana on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 11 am. with Brother Jeremiah Haynes officiating. Burial will be at Mudpike Cemetery with full military honors.
