Douglas Gene Lawrence, 68, of Greensburg passed away on December 20, 2022. He was born on July 11, 1954 in Greensburg, the son of Gerald and Dorothy (McNeely) Lawrence. Doug was a 1972 graduate of North Decatur High School and went to college at Ivy Tech. He worked at Bohn Aluminum for 18 years as a welder and machine operator, U.S. Postal Service from 1989-1994, and at Sears from 1993-1999. Doug was heavily involved with Boy Scouts of America in his youth, loved playing softball at the men’s diamonds in the 1990’s, and riding in his Jeep.
Survivors include: Parents, Gerald and Dorothy Lawrence; Sisters, Vickie (Roger) Pressler, Jennifer (Paul) Krause, and Cathy (Mike) Endris; Nieces, Amy (Joe) Lumpkins, Whitney Stewart, Breanne Krause; Nephew, Brandon Krause; Great Nieces, Jocelyn Lumpkins, Chandra Lumpkins, Danica Lumpkins; Great Nephew, Blaiden Adams.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Danny Wolford will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
