Dorothy E. Hollowell, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Ohio County and Dearborn County, IN., passed away Wednesday June 12, 2019 in Port Charlotte, Florida.
She was born August 10, 1922 in Dearborn County, IN, daughter of the late Harry Mathew and Dorabelle (Baker) Mathew.
She worked as a LPN, retiring after over 20 years of service. Dorothy went back to school in 1962, in her 40’s, to get her LPN license. She loved to play Bingo, quilt and was an avid reader.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Darla Hollowell of Port Charlotte, FL; son, Steven (Jan) Hollowell of Oconamawoc, WI; four grandchildren, Steven Murray, Kyle Rupnow, Jarod Hollowell, Jeffrey Hollowell; three great-grandchildren, Marissa Murray, Mason Rupnow, Teara Murray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darrell Hollowell, daughter, Donna Murray, granddaughter, Jamie Murray.
Friends will be received Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic St. , Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at 1:30 PM following visitation, with Rev. Robert Yelton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rising Sun New Cemetery, Rising Sun, Indiana.
