Donald L. Konkler, Sr., 80, Batesville, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at The Waters of Batesville. Born February 18, 1937, in Lancaster, OH, he was the son of DeWayne and Nola (Cordle) Frances.
Don met Miss Shirley K. Hershberger in California while he was in the Marine Corps. Donald worked for over 40 years at Timken Roller Bearing Company in Columbus, OH. He was most proud that he never missed a day. After Don retired they moved from Ohio to Batesville, IN in 2000. Faith and family were the most important parts of Don’s life. He and Shirley were baptized March 1973 in Somerset, OH. A few of Don’s favorite interest were cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, fishing and gardening. He also loved to travel and some of his favorite places were Hawaii and Florida.
Don is survived by his children, Donald L. Konkler, Jr., Lancaster, OH and daughter Vicky (Bill) Wilson, Batesville, IN; grandchildren Matthew (Melissa) Konkler, Lancaster, OH; Ashley Wilson, Baytown, TX; Lindsey Wilson, Niles, MI and brother William (Bea) Konkler, Red Bluff, CA.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Helen and his beloved wife of 53 years Shirley K. Konkler.
