(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County REMC hosted members at the 86th annual meeting last Friday at the Decatur County Fairgrounds (pictured).
The festivities kicked off at 4 p.m. with food and engagement.
Over 1,000 meals were prepared.
After the meal, those in attendance visited booths from several local businesses, including WRBI.
Co-op members were treated to a live line demonstration and bucket truck rides. Younger attendees received treats at the Little Crew Corner, and some joined the Little Crew Club.
The evening wrapped up with a business meeting, the annual election results, and over $4,000 in prizes donated by business partners and the community.
Brian Scheidler was elected District 5 Director with 711 votes, followed by V. Albert Armand with 418 and Cory Ross with 244.
Dale Wernke received the nod in District 6 with 867 votes over Jeff Evans, who finished with 495 votes.
Scheidler and Wernke will serve three-year terms.
And Bill Huffmeyer was chosen to represent District 7 on the Nominating Committee with 812 votes, while Patty Lange Fischer garnered 548.
“This annual event is a personal favorite of mine. Seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones, listening to their feedback, and expressing gratitude for their membership is truly incomparable,” said CEO Brett Abplanalp.
