(Indianapolis, IN) – The Indiana Supreme Court on Tuesday publicly reprimanded Decatur Circuit Judge Timothy Day for unauthorized one-sided communications and for failing to take remedial measures regarding those communications.
The reprimand comes four months after the Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications filed two disciplinary charges against Judge Day, who has been on the bench since 2013.
He was accused of misconduct in Child in Need of Services cases related to a pattern of not including Court Appointed Special Advocates in the proceedings and fostering a culture of one-sided communications.
The high court determined that Judge Day cooperated with the investigation.
All of the justices concurred with the sanction that was handed down.
