Deborah Kay Nicholson, 57, of Holton passed away at 3:15pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at her home. She was born at Scottsburg on September 14, 1960 the daughter of Arlo Dean and Martha Jean Smith. She was married to Marty Nicholson on October 29, 1981 and he survives. Other survivors include one son Hank (Jennifer) Nicholson of Versailles; one daughter Emily (Jack) Begley of Versailles; grandchildren Lanie, Lucie, and Clint Nicholson, and Brady, Noah, and Grayson Begley; one sister Lois Smith of Lexington; also her in-laws Harold and Barbara Turner of Napoleon. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Jake Smith. Mrs. Nicholson was a 1978 graduate of Scottsburg High School and was a former employee of Marble Hill at Madison and also of Fruit of the Loom and Ingersoll Rand in Campbellsville, Kentucky. For the last 23 years Debbie worked as a Customer Service Representative for Farm Bureau Insurance in Osgood. The light of Debbie’s life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Debbie attended the Dabney Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 4pm at the Dabney Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Dabney Cemetery. Visitation will also be at the church beginning at 2pm Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church or cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
