(Dearborn County, IN) – Another local law enforcement agency is the subject of a scam involving spoofed phone numbers.
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office has received a number of calls recently from residents who say scammers are using the agency’s phone number, claiming to be law enforcement and telling people they have outstanding warrants.
Deputies say they do not call residents about warrants, and that this is an attempt by scammers to get your personal information.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported a similar scam last week.
