Woman dies from injuries suffered in Decatur County motorcycle crash

(Decatur County, IN) – A New Castle woman who was injured in a motorcycle crash last month in Decatur County died from her injuries over the weekend.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old Karie Kay King was discovered by deputies lying 12 to 15 feet from the motorcycle on State Road 46 just west of State Road 3 around 8:11 pm on June 23.

Deputies say King, who was the lone occupant of the motorcycle, was not wearing a helmet and sustained significant head injuries.

King was flown to a Cincinnati area hospital where she died from her injuries on Saturday, July 8.

A witness told deputies they saw the motorcycle wobbling before it went off the north side of the road.

Assisting agencies included Decatur County Dispatch, Decatur County EMS, the Burney Volunteer Fire Department, the Greensburg Fire Department, and the Greensburg Police Department.
