DCCF Launches Match Opportunity for Pool Donations

(Greensburg, IN) – Donations to support a new community pool in Decatur County will now be matched, dollar-for-dollar, thanks to a challenge from the Decatur County Community Foundation (DCCF).

“The Foundation’s Board of Directors wants to make this a new ‘community’ pool in every sense,” explained DCCF Executive Director Tami Wenning. “That’s why our board has created a match opportunity to encourage the public to support the effort and demonstrate just how much we want a local pool.”

From now until February 28, the Foundation will match every donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $300,000.  To donate, visit dccfound.org, click on the black “Give Now” box at the top right, then click on the green “Access Our Secure Online Giving Portal” button. Select the Aquatic Center Project link to give. Or write a check to DCCF (memo: Pool Project), and mail to 101 E. Main St., Greensburg.

Designs for a new pool include a zero-entry beach area to ensure inclusivity, a family slide to allow adults and youngsters to ride together, a four-flume slide to alleviate lines, and an exciting splash pad. The estimated cost is $4.5M, of which $2.5M has been raised. The $300,000 match challenge will contribute another $600,000 toward the goal.

The effort to rebuild a local pool was renewed by Commissioner Gabriel Nobbe shortly after he took office in January 2025. Nobbe reorganized a committee including members of the Decatur County Parks and Recreation, Visit Greensburg, and the Decatur County Community Foundation to help bring the project to reality.
