David Paul Lipps, age 66 of Milan

David “Dave” Paul Lipps, 66, of Milan, passed away on December 28, 2025 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Edith Budde Lipps, nephew Zachary Lipps, step-son Andrew Rehn and brothers-in-law Eric and Robert “Bobby” Buckhave.

Dave was born on October 6, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in the Delhi neighborhood. He graduated from Elder High School in 1978 and started working for Cincinnati-based Donnellon McCarthy Enterprises in the 1980s. He spent his entire career working for the company as a dedicated IT Technician until 2024 and proved that he could adapt to the ever-changing world of technology with ease.

Dave married Loretta Ann Ferro in 1991 and they had two beloved sons, Paul and Angelo, with whom he created many lasting family memories. Following divorce, he found the love of his life in Melinda “Lindy” Buckhave and they sealed their commitment through marriage in 2009. Dave and Lindy spent 17 happy years together and found joy in the ease of each other’s presence. Their large combined family kept them busy, but they made sure to always find time for each other amidst the chaos.

A true Cincinnati sports fan through thick and thin (mostly thin), Dave could usually be found watching a Cincinnati Reds, Bengals or Bearcats game in his free time. Dave’s family will always remember his endearing smile and endless sense of childlike humor. His love of outdoor activities, including camping, fishing, hunting (and many other endeavors over the years), was the source of many happy family moments; his adventurous spirit will forever live on through the memories his loved ones carry.

Dave’s memory will be carried forward by his devoted wife, Melinda “Lindy” Lipps; sons Paul and Angelo (Claire); step-daughters Laura (Andrew) Glenn and Crystal Himes and step-son Billy Himes; grandchildren Genevieve and Garen; step-grandchildren Jasper, Branten, Brooklyn, Nathan, Braxtyn, Hadley, Rhea, Hailey, Baylee, Daylen and Ayden; brother Mike (Dottie), and sisters Linda (Dave) Overman and Paula (Fred) Vickery.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 W. Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana 47041 on January 9th, 2025 from 10am – 12noon with a meal to follow at a separate location. A funeral mass will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate monetary donations to defray the cost of funeral services.
