Cold Weather Advisory Overnight Through Thursday Morning; More Snow on the Way

(Southeastern IN) – A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from Midnight tonight to 9 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service (NWS)  says very cold wind chills as low as 5 to 12 below zero are expected.

Forecasters say those wind chills could result in hypothermia is precautions are not taken.

You’re urged to dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside, especially for any length of time, and to keep pets indoors as much as possible.

This is the first time a Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for our area; it was formerly known as a Wind Chill Advisory.

The NWS revised terminology for weather messaging effective October 1, 2024 in an effort to simplify messaging, according to the agency.

Snow is in the forecast Friday afternoon into Friday night. Anywhere from 1 to 4 inches are possible. The snow will affect the Friday afternoon commute.
