Clifford John Nordmeyer Sr.

Clifford John Nordmeyer Sr. passed away at his home in Batesville surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 22, 2019.  The son of John and Eleanor (nee: Brum) Nordmeyer was born on March 5, 1940 in Batesville.  He was 79 years old.

Cliff as he was known in business, or ‘Kip’ by his friends and family, will always be remembered for his kind and gentle nature.  He was always thinking of others first and offering help to everyone, while standing by his convictions. Kip worked at Morris Feed Mill all his life and grew up living across the street. His only absence was the four years he served our country in the Navy from 1959-1963. He was a leader in every organization or lodge he belonged to. He truly lived for his faith in God, service to his country, and love for his family. He will be greatly missed.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Gerry Nordmeyer; children, Ben (Mary Anne Sterling) Nordmeyer, Abby (Scott) Schmitz; daughter-in-law Charlene Normeyer; grandchildren Victoria Nordmeyer, Levi (Michaela) Nordmeyer, Leah Nordmeyer, Tegan Schmitz, Lucy Schmitz, Nick McConnell; siblings, Ken (Marcia) Nordmeyer, Mary Beth (Michael) Brunsman, Paul (Ricki) Nordmeyer, Chuck Nordmeyer, Jim (Jane) Nordmeyer, and Mike (Pam) Nordmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Eleanor Nordmeyer; daughter Rene’ Marie Nordmeyer and son, Clifford John Nordmeyer Jr.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 4-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 27th, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris.  Father Shaun Whittington officiating.  Burial to follow in the St. Anthony Church Cemetery with military grave side rites by conducted by the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 and the Ripley County V.F.W. Post #3183.

Memorials may be given to the Summer Food Program or Gibault School for Boys c/o the funeral home.
