Francis “Lynn” Gigerich

Francis “Lynn” Gigerich 72, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Saturday June 22, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born October 17, 1946 in Milan, IN, son of the late Edmond John and Mary (Meierle) Gigerich.

He worked at GM, retiring after over 30 years of service. Lynn was very patriotic and loved his country. He served in the National Guard, and was a member of the American Legion in Aurora and Moores Hill, IN. He was also a member of Aurora Eagles and the Aurora Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Lynn had a passion for classic cars and was involved in many aspects. He showed his cars, enjoyed working on them, and attended car shows at least once a month. He was a member of the Vintage Street Rodders of America. Lynn loved to mow grass and had an immaculate lawn. He also enjoyed collecting coins and antique clocks. He was a history buff and very knowledgeable about New Marian and Jefferson Proving Ground. He was a self taught business man and had a knack for accounting. Most of all Lynn loved people especially his family. He was involved in so many activities in the community and will be missed by family, many friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his loving companion, Cay Cherry; sons, Samuel Gigerich, and Jesse Gigerich; sisters, Kay Gigerich and Joyce Palmer all of Aurora, IN, and Rita (Monte) Smith of Angola, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Gigerich.

Friends will be received Tuesday, June 25, 2019, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ben Syberg officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
