Clara Ann King, 84, of Sunman passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at home. Clara was born Saturday, May 2, 1936 to Bernard Niemeyer and Mary E. (Jump) Niemeyer. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidering, sewing, doing crafts, and writing poetry and short stories. Clara loved raising and taking care of her dogs as well. She retired from Provident Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a member of Hope Baptist Church.
Clara is survived by her daughters Kathy (Russell) Lagaly-Hann of Sunman and Vickey (David) Meyer of Bromley, Kentucky; brother Charles Niemeyer of Florida; sisters Rose Wolf of Milford, Ohio and Margie Brockman of Hamilton, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Arnold Lee Chasteen Jr., 2 sisters, 3 brothers, her husband Arnold Chasteen, and her second husband Melvin “Bud” King Sr.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately after with pastor Ron Messer officiating.
