Lawrenceburg, IN — The City of Lawrenceburg is providing an emergency shelter in response to an active winter weather advisory across the region. Individuals or families in need will have access to a warm shelter, blankets, cots, and water.
The shelter will be at the Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Cabin located at 461 West High St., Lawrenceburg. It will open up today starting at 4 pm through 4 pm on February 16th, 2021.
To ensure a safe environment, please follow general requirements for public health & safety:
• Stay 6 feet apart
• Mask up
• Wash your hands or sanitize often
• Hand sanitizer, masks, and cleaning wipes will be available
• Leave no trace to make sure the boy scout’s cabin stays clean
Individuals in need of emergency transport please contact the LFD/LERU Dispatch at 812-537-1509. Limited parking available. Following the 7-day period, city officials will re-evaluate the need to continue providing an open Emergency Shelter.
All Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and organizational meetings normally held between Feb. 9th – 16th are now hereby suspended until further notice during this period. Members should contact their organization representatives for updates on meeting relocation or scheduling notices.
