LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. – The Lauren Hill Make A Difference Fund at the Dearborn Community Foundation has received another $100,000 contribution.
The endowment fund set up to award grants in Dearborn County now totals more than $200,000.
Lawrenceburg City Council has approved DCF adding another one hundred thousand dollars to the endowment through a grant from the Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program.
“The city leaders are to be commended for this generous act,” said Fred McCarter, DCF Executive Director. “They agree that Lauren Hill provides a great example of how we all should strive to make a difference in the lives of others.”
DCF established the Lauren Hill Make A Difference Fund to inspire others to strive to make a difference in their community, McCarter said. “We are all inspired by Lauren and her determination to live life and make a difference in the lives of others even in the face of terminal brain cancer,” he said.
Hill is a former Lawrenceburg High School basketball player and a current freshman at NCAA Division III Mount St. Joseph University, Cincinnati.
The Lauren Hill Make A Difference Fund will enable the current and future DCF Board and staff members to make grants in perpetuity to address the changing needs in the community.
