(Batesville, IN) – The results are in, and Schmidt Bakery is thanking everyone who waited in long lines and made in-store purchases of Cherry Thing-A-Lings this year.
The bakery in downtown Batesville sold 19,947 dozen, which comes out to 239,364 Thing-A-Lings sold between last Thursday and Monday.
This was the 50th year the fritters topped with a cherry glaze were sold over Presidents Day weekend, in a nod to the tale of George Washington chopping down a cherry tree.
