Charles M. “Charlie” Lecher, 80

Charles M. “Charlie” Lecher, 80, of Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital.  He was born October 23, 1940 in Greensburg, Indiana the son of George E. and Johanna M. (Rudolf) Lecher.

He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John, and United Steel Workers of America Local #6743 District 7. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard (1963-1969). Charlie worked for 40 years at NTN-BCA, retiring in 2004.

He was married to Ruth E. Meyer on May 9, 1964 in Hamburg, Indiana and she preceded him in death on July 15, 2015.

He is survived by 8 children, Dianne (David) Grannan, John Lecher, Carol (David) Lohmueller, Doug Lecher, Mark (Lisa) Lecher, Scott (Elizabeth) Lecher, Matthew (Alison) Lecher, Eric (Siobhan) McGuire; 11 grandchildren, Brooke, Luke, Thomas, Bridget, Drew, Neil, Claire, Eloise, Oliver, Josephine, and Tadhg; 5 brothers, Robert G. (Betsy) Lecher, Dennis J. (Gayla) Lecher, Steven C. (Edith) Lecher, Eugene E. (Patti) Lecher, Ronald L. (Donna) Lecher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; 2 sons, Greg & Dale Lecher; one great grandson, Franklin Charles Horan.

A private Mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating and will be broadcast on the funeral home Facebook page on Monday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
