(Batesville, IN) – There are several changes in Batesville city government for 2026.
Brad Dreyer is the new City Council President.
That role was filled for the past two years by At-Large Councilmember Melissa Tucker.
Dreyer represents District 4 on council, and serves on the Board of Works as well as the Finance Board.
Jonathon Maple has been named to the Board of Works.
He succeeds Bill Hartman, who decided to step down after serving for the past two years.
Maple, who is also Executive Director of the Margaret Mary Health Foundation, was asked to join the board by Mayor John Irrgang.
Eric Laker has departed as Water Utility Manager for a job with a private engineering firm.
The city administration is conducting interviews, and hopes to fill the vacancy soon.
In addition, Tucker and District 3 Councilmember Beth Enneking have switched places on city commissions: Tucker will serve on the Planning Commission while Enneking moves to the Redevelopment Commission.
Also joining the Planning Commission this year by appointment is District 2 Councilmember Doug Stock.
