The Bulldogs started off with confidence and intensity handling the ball and possessing well. Just ten minutes into the match Batesville found the back of the net for the first goal. Evan Vogelsang took a long shot which was deflected and Michael Ripperger followed up for the finish. Minutes later Ian Powers played a nice through ball out wide to Johnathan Lynch, who crossed it low and Ripperger heeled it in far post. Next, Nate Slavin had a goal punt from the keeper box which was mishandled by the Knights defense and sent flying toward goal for Ripperger to dribble in and shoot scoring his hat trick. Towards the end of the half Garrett Lee passed the ball into Lynch who shot and rolled past the keeper.
Seconds before the whistle, Eli Pierson crossed from wide and Garrett Lee took a one time shot in the net. The second half Batesville slowed down and South Dearborn took advantage of some possession. Halfway through, a free kick was given to the Knights well outside the 18 yard box and they were able to take a direct kick which went over our keeper and into the goal. Batesville won 5-1.
