Bulldogs Middle School Teams Defeat Raiders

The 7th Grade Batesville Boys Basketball team won their first game of the season against South Ripley Raiders by a score of 41-11.  The boys got out to a quick start and were up 15-4 after the first quarter and 23-6 at the half.  Their lock down defense led to many offensive scores.  Leading in scoring for Batesville was Conner Drake with 11 points, followed by Sam Johnson with 10, Chris Lewis chipped in 7, and Jack Grunkemeyer added 6.  Rounding out the scoring were Gus Prickel with 5 and Brendan Heiser with 2.  The Bulldogs will be back in action Tuesday night at home against the Jac Cen Del Eagles. The Bulldogs are 1-0 on the season.

The 8th Grade Batesville Bulldogs Basketball team came out on top at South Ripley 33-18. The Bulldogs forced a lot of turnovers early to help jump start a 23-4 lead at half time. Cole Pride and Will Sherwood provided a huge spark throughout the game with their high level energy on defense and rebounding. Jackson Renck led all scorers with 14 points; Bryson Bonelli right behind him with 12 points. Each player played valuable minutes  to help secure the first win of the season and move the team to 1-0 on the season.
