The Bulldogs traveled to Greensburg on Satruday, losing 5-4, as they left the bases loaded to end the game.
Jacob Christie reached base four times in the game for the Batesville Bulldogs. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth inning.
Reynolds recorded the win for Greensburg . He allowed four runs over six innings. Reynolds struck out 11, walked three and gave up seven hits.
Leo Enneking took the loss for the Batesville Bulldogs, lasting six innings, walking three, striking out four, and allowing five runs.
The bottom of the first saw Greensburg take an early lead, 3-0. Greensburg got things going when McLeod singled. Greensburg added more runs when Foster scored on an RBI double by Reynolds and Reynolds scored on an RBI single by Springmeyer.
The Batesville Bulldogs brought home one run in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the second, the Batesville Bulldogs scored on an RBI double by Joe Bohman, bringing home Kent Siefert.
Greensburg stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring one run on an RBI single by Reynolds.
One run in the top of the fifth helped the Batesville Bulldogs close their deficit to 5-4. An RBI single by Jacob Christie set off the Batesville Bulldogs rally.
In the seventh inning, the Bulldogs began to threaten, as they had the bases loaded with no outs; however, three straight strike outs thrown by Greensburg’s Austin Kane ended the game.
The loss makes Batesville 8-7 overall and 6-6 in the EIAC conference.
