- Senior Joe Bohman threw a no hitter on Thursday to lead Batesville past Connersville 9-0. Bohman induced a groundout from Cameron Rowe of Connersville to end the game.
- In the first inning, Batesville got their offense started when Quinn Werner singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
- The Bulldogs put up four runs in the second inning. The Bulldog’s big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Trey Heidlage and Werner. In the third inning, Freshman Sam Voegele hit a two RBI home run to put the Bulldogs up 7-0 after three.
- Bohman was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs. He lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. It was his first career no-hitter.
- Bryce Cloyd took the loss for Connersville. He allowed six hits and seven runs over two and a third innings, striking out one.
- Batesville tallied eight hits on the day. Bohman, Werner, and Heidlage each collected two hits to lead the Bulldogs. Batesville was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lane Oesterling had the most chances in the field with 15.
- The win keeps Batesville undefeated at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the EIAC. The Bulldogs will take on Dixie Heights (Ky.) in a DH at home on Saturday.

The Batesville Junior Varsity baseball team started their season out with a convincing victory on Thursday Night against Connersville 13-2.
The Bulldogs jumped out to the early lead scoring multiple runs in the first 3 innings highlighted by a double in the gap by freshman left fielder Lleyton Ratcliffe. The Bulldogs hitters proved to be patient in the box drawing 9 walks. The JV squad also burnt up the base paths led by sophomore Short Stop Seth Gausman who had 5. Garrett Lee, Braydon Worthington, and Lleyton Ratcliffe each had 2. All in all they swiped 14 bags. Junior Nate Eckstein earned the win only allowing 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 4 Spartans. lefty sophomore Casey Werner came in and threw 1 inning of scoreless relief. The Bulldog defense was solid all game not committing any errors.
The next JV game is scheduled for this Saturday April 7 a double header at home against South Ripley with the first game starting at 11 am.
