The Batesville Freshman Baseball team shut out the Connersville Spartans C Team at home on Thursday April 27th 6-0.
Hank Nobbe pitched the complete game shutout, while only allowing 3 hits, striking out 7 and not issuing a single walk. Batesville was able to push across 6 runs on 4 timely hits. Connersville pitching walked 8 batters, while Batesville was able to steal 10 bases on the night.
Alex Smith led the team with 2 hits, while Jake Cruse and Hank Nobbe also had 1 hit each.
The Batesville Freshman team is now 4-2 on the season and was supposed to travel to Milan for a doubleheader on Saturday April 29th but it was rained out.
Batesville now looks forward to hosting Columbus East on Tuesday (5/2) and East Central on Thursday (5/4) at the Batesville HS Field.
