Bulldogs Fall To Trojans On Senior Night

The Batesville Bulldogs Boys Soccer team faced off against the East Central Trojans for a conference match on Senior Night at home losing 1-0. The conditions were slick and cool from the rainfall throughout the day. The Trojans attacked the ball with intensity and did a good job possessing and threatening our goal with it first half. Overall the Bulldogs defense held up with center backs Calvin Sherwood and Dominic Butz. Nate Slavin made some great saves keeping us in the game. Michael Ripperger took a long range shot which just nearly missed the open net. Just 7 minutes remaining in the first half, the Trojans took a corner kick which skipped right off a defenders head who misjudged the clearance and slipped in for an own goal. The second half went on much the same, but Batesville didn’t find enough attempts at goal to get back in the game. East Central continued to press on goal, but were unable to add to the 1-0 lead which ended being the final score for the match.
