Bulldogs CC Season Opening Results

The Batesville Bulldog Cross Country team opened up their 2018 season with a new race added to their schedule…they traveled over two hours and competed in the Valley Kickoff Meet in Terre Haute at the LaVern Gibson NCAA Championship Course, which also happens to be the high school State Course. There were 18 teams competing in the girls race and 19 for the boys.  This meet was not scored as a team, but only individuals were recognized.  They gave awards to the top 20.

Batesville had 4 individuals place in the top 20 with Ean Loichinger crowned as the champion of the boys race.  Ean dominated from the very beginning and held on to his lead down the home stretch, winning by 5 seconds and coming through in a time of 16:28. Congratulations Ean!!! Also placing in the top 20 for the boys was Adam Moster at 17th, 17:38.  Other runners for the Bulldogs were: Joshua Myers, 34th, Benjamin Moster, 46th, Adam Hollowell, 67th, Dillan Murray, 82nd, Nathan Villani, 127th and Charlie Laymon, 167th.  On the girls side, the Bulldogs also had 2 girls placing in the top 20. Lily Pinckley led the dogs at 10th place (20:52) followed closely by Liz Loichinger at 12th (21:19).  Other runners for the girls were: Trysta Vierling, 40th, Sarah Ripperger, 42nd, Katie Olsen, 52nd Maria Lopez, 55th, and Ava Ralston, 89th.  Batesville also had one Bulldog run a personal best on this tough course, but starting off his season right, and that was Adam Hollowell running an 18:40, almost 30 seconds faster than his PR from last year. Way to go Adam!

The Bulldogs next meet is Thursday.
