- Batesville won big over East Central 11-1 on Monday in six innings via the ten run rule.
- The Bulldogs got things started in the first inning, as they scored four runs on three walks and two hit by pitches. Caleb Raab was hit by a pitch and drove in a run during the inning.
- Batesville scored five runs in the sixth inning. The Bulldog batters contributing to the big inning included Lane Oesterling, Sam Voegele, Joe Bohman, and Nate Slavin, all driving runs in the frame.
- Oesterling was credited with the victory for the Bulldogs. He lasted six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out six and walking zero.
- Kyle Merkin took the loss for East Central. He surrendered four runs on zero hits over one-third of an inning, striking out one.
- Nate Slavin led the way for the Bulldogs with two hits in four at bats.
The win makes Batesville 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the EIAC. Batesville will take on New Palestine on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup and attempt to stay undefeated.
