The Batesville Bulldogs led by four runs in the fifth inning, but Franklin County put together a furious comeback to steal the victory in extra innings, 7-6, on Thursday at Liberty.
Sophomore, Joe Bohman picked up two RBIs on three hits for the Batesville Bulldogs. He singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.
Leo Enneking took the loss for the Batesville Bulldogs. He pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
The Batesville Bulldogs jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Batesville Bulldogs got things going when Trey Heidlage singled. The Batesville Bulldogs then tacked on more runs when Belter scored on an RBI single by Zack Blomer, and then Blomer and McPherson scored on a two-run single by Bohman.
Franklin County put up one run in each of the second, fourth and, ultimately, the game winning run in the eighth. In the second, Franklin County scored on a sacrifice fly by Bradley Singer, bringing home Layten Bowling.
The game went to extra innings, tied 6-6 after seven. The Wildcats had the bases loaded with two outs and the Bulldogs balked the run in, resulting in Franklin County leading 7-6. In the bottom half of the inning, the Bulldogs attempted a surge; however, the final out was recorded after Leo Enneking hit a two out double, resulting in Franklin County’s, Singer, throwing out Zack Blomer from left field at the plate to end the game.
This makes the Bulldogs 8-6 on the year and 6-5 in the EIAC.

The Batesville Bulldogs JV lost 12-1 to Franklin County on Thursday.
Kyle Siefert took the loss for the Batesville Bulldogs JV. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked eight and struck out none. The Batesville Bulldogs JV managed to score one run in the first inning on an RBI single by Logan Mears.
