Boys basketball recaps from February 15 and 17

The following are boys varsity basketball recaps (except where noted) from Tuesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 17  There may be updates, so please check back.

Greensburg got by Seymour 49-47.  The Pirates and Owls were tied at every stop except at the final horn.

Colin Comer and Ki Dyer both scored 17 for the Bucs. Dakota Walters added eight. Comer also had five assists.  Brenden Stanley recorded seven rebounds.

Jac-Cen-Del juiced Rising Sun 82-46 and took over sole possession of first in the ORVC.   Jac was up 21 at the half.

For the Eagles, Damon Simon scored 24, Wyatt Day and Ryan Wilson both bucketed 13, Matt Dickman netted nine and Devin Grieshop scored eight.

Southwestern picked up a big ORVC win against South Ripley 72-55.  The Hanover boys had a plus-10 advantage in rebounds and missed just one free throw in 21 attempts.  Ripley connected on 6-of-9 at the stripe.

The Rebels Zach Cole had 21 points which pushed him over 1000 for his career.  Parker Davis dialed up 17, Peyton Gwin garnered 12 and Colton Cloud collected 10.

South Ripley got 20 points from Blaine Ward.  Fifteen came on five triples.  Zach Gentile had a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. Blake Volz added nine.

Jac-Cen-Del is now first in the ORVC at 3-0 with three conference games left.  Southwestern is in the barn at 5-1 with no league games remaining.  South Ripley is third at 3-1 with two ORVC games left including Jac-Cen-Del.

North Decatur knocked out Morristown 60-21.  The Chargers led 20-5 at the end of the first quarter.

Carson Parmer and Lance Nobbe both put in 14 for ND.  Kaden Muckerheide had 11, Blake Spears scored eight and Reid Messer added seven.

Edinburgh bested Trinity Lutheran 54-44.

Caleb Dewey’s 23 points led the Lancers while teammate Jarrett Turner turned in 13.  Dewey and Riley Palmeter had six rebounds and five steals each. Palmeter also contributed seven points.

For Trinity, Mitchell Hackman had a team-high 14 points and four assists, Sage Broughton booked 11 points and seven rebounds while Jacob Sabotin tallied 10 points and five boards.

Oldenburg defeated Hauser at The Hangar 64-57.  The Twisters were down two at intermission, but the game turned in favor of OA during a 16-9 third period.

Columbus East got by East Central in overtime 60-56.  It came down to free throw shooting.  The Olympians his a solid 20-of-28 while the host Trojans converted just 14-of-31.

For EC, Casey McQueen had a double-bubble with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Jadyn Dennis scored 12 while Caleb Mergenthal collected 11 points and four assists.
