“We sell gift certificates to local businesses and restaurants, and they’re the ones that drive this fundraiser, so I can’t thank them enough,” said Principal Dave Strouse. “And what happens is, you’ll exchange a $10 bill for a $10 gift certificate, and the businesses gift $2.50 back to individual students.”
Strouse says the kids sold more than 24,000 gift certificates last year, which resulted in them profiting $61,000 toward their trip.
This year’s edition of the fundraiser wraps up next Tuesday, December 2.
