BHS Girls Soccer Splits With Madison

Batesville JV and varsity girls soccer split with Madison on the Bulldogs’ grass field Tuesday evening.

The Cubs won the varsity contest 3-nil.

Bulldog sophomore goalie Brynlie Oesterling had 14 saves.

The Batesville defense, especially junior Nora Wiedeman, controlled the defensive line and battled a handful of Madison’s speedy strikers.

Hailee Weisenbach, Alyssa Cummings and Lilly Richardson were busy in the center mid positions, and strikers Addie Reding and Emma Miller had great chances throughout the game to put a ball into the back of the net, but just couldn’t get past the Cubs’ keeper.

It was also Senior Night. Batesville honored seniors Emma Miller, Karsyn Watson, Katie Lipps, Adalynn Fledderman and Ella Carpenter.

The Bulldog JV knocked off Madison 4-1.

All of Batesville’s goals were scored in the first half. Avi Milller recorded a hat trick,  while Alyssa Cummings added one.

Cummins also had two assists while Kenzie Lacey was credited with one.

Batesville’s varsity and JV squads will host East Central on Monday.
