
It’s part of Fire Prevention Week, which starts Sunday, October 6 and runs through next Saturday.
This year’s National Fire Protection Association campaign is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You.”
In addition, the department is raising funds to replace its extrication equipment, which is used when responding to automobile accidents.
Fire Chief Brian Hardebeck says much of the department’s current equipment is aging out and must be replaced.
