Beverly Ann Carrigan, 71, of Aberdeen, IN, passed away on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital. Bev was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 13, 1953, a daughter of the late Betty (Lischkge) McCardle and Edward McCardle. She was a graduate of Aurora High School, Class of 1971, and later obtained her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. Bev was employed for over 25 years as a social worker at Shady Nook Care Center in Lawrenceburg, IN. Bev married Dennis Earl “Denny” Carrigan on July 12th, 1974 at the Aurora Methodist Church. Bev and Denny were married for nearly 43 years until his passing in 2017. She was a member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Bev loved her dogs: Georgie, Ollie, and Sammy. She enjoyed her leisure time reading, spending time in her pool during the summer, and going to Indiana Fever games. Bev was a devoted mom and Mams and attended every one of her family’s sporting events that she could. Bev spent her life helping and caring for others. Her compassionate actions continued even after death with the gift of sight to those in need through the organ donor program.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Molly Martin (Jeremy), of Rising Sun, IN, and Abby Carrigan, of Aberdeen, IN; by her three sons, Toby Carrigan (Raimi), of Union, KY; CJ Carrigan, of Aberdeen, IN and Joe Carrigan (Jordan Thomas), of Lawrenceburg, IN; by her grandchildren, Lucy Carrigan-McClellan (Jason), Dylan Martin (Baylee Morris), Gracie Carrigan, Griggs Carrigan, Damon Carrigan and Carrigan Friend. Beverly is also survived by her sister, Cindy Lewis, of Rising Sun, IN; by her brother, Jeff McCardle (Sue), of Rising Sun, IN; by her sister-in-law, Sandy Dugle (Chuck), of Rising Sun, IN; by nephews, Matt Markland and Curt Dugle and by many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November, 13th, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13th at Markland Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio County Community Foundation to the Denny Carrigan Memorial Scholarship (checks payable to OCCF).
