Betty Marie Vaughn, 95, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025 after a long and fulfilling life. She was born on October 4, 1929 in Logan, IN, the daughter of Grover Allen and Lillie May (Nixon) Sefton. On September 9, 1950, she married Robert L. Vaughn. Betty was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend to all who knew her.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert. Together, they shared many years of love, laughter, and beautiful memories. Betty’s life was dedicated to her family. She dedicated much of her life to raising her daughter as a stay-at-home mom. Later in life, she worked in retail sales, where she enjoyed helping others and creating lasting connections with those around her. Her heart was always focused on her family, and she cherished the role of a mother above all.
Betty was a lifelong Methodist and took great comfort in her faith. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity of spirit touched everyone she met. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle nature, and her incredible ability to make others feel loved and valued.
Survivors include: Daughter, Teresa “Terri” (Russ) Hardy; Sister, Carolyn (Bobby Joe) Ley Ritchey; sister in law, Nancy Sefton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Husband; brothers, Walter “Bud” Anderson, Grover “Junior” Sefton, Allen Sefton, John Sefton and Melvin Sefton; sisters, Belva White, Mildred Balser, Mary “Juanita” Jackson, and Alma Sefton.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Rev. Lloyd Bloomfield will be officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice and American Heart Association. Betty’s legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, dedicated mother, and a friend to many.
