Batesville Unveils Fourth of July Plans

(Batesville, IN) – The City of Batesville has taken the wraps off plans for the 2025 Fourth of July celebration, which officials say will be a vibrant, community-focused event designed to evoke the spirit of “the good old days.”

This year’s festivities will span two days, beginning with a fireworks display, followed by a patriotic run, the traditional parade, extended activities at Liberty Park, an evening band performance, and various business specials and fun all around town.

“We are incredibly excited about this year’s Fourth of July celebration,” said Mayor John Irrgang. “Our goal is to create a truly memorable experience for all Batesville residents and visitors. We believe this year’s lineup, along with significant community involvement, will do just that.”

The celebration officially begins on Thursday, July 3, with a fireworks display hosted by the City of Batesville and Hillcrest Golf & Country Club, starting at approximately 9:45 p.m.

This year, the city is working to make it easier for everyone to find a comfortable and convenient location to watch the display.  A special guide with recommended public viewing areas will be shared very soon, according to the city.

Friday, July 4, is packed with activities for all ages.

The day kicks off at 8 a.m. at Liberty Park with the “Four on the Fourth” Run/Walk. This four-mile event, hosted by “Every Sole Counts,” is a newly created organization dedicated to empowering special needs athletes by providing them with high-quality running gear.

Registration for the run is currently open on the city’s website www.batesvilleindiana.us and then click on the “Fourth of July” image on the home page to register or learn more.

The Fourth of July Parade steps of at 10 a.m.  A wide range of participants, including floats, tractors, golf carts, bicycles, big wheels, wagons, tricycles, strollers, clubs or groups, walkers (dogs welcome!), sports teams, and horses are encouraged to take part.

Registration for floats and vehicles is open through June 27 by going to www.batesvilleindiana.us and clicking on the “Fourth of July” image on the home page to register or learn more.

Following the parade, Liberty Park will continue to be a hub of activity until 3 p.m. in the same vein as a classic town gathering. Local businesses, clubs, and non-profits hosting booths and activities will be available for you to grab a bite to eat, play some games, and connect with your neighbors.

The day concludes when the Eureka Band takes the stage under the Liberty Park gazebo at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for a patriotic concert under the stars.
