Batesville, IN — Monday at the Batesville City Council meeting, the newest officer for the Batesville Police Department was sworn in, Haylie Brown.
Brown is a graduate of East Central High School and recently graduated with a degree in Medical Science and a triple minor in Forensic Science, Criminology, and Biology from Mt. Saint Joseph College.
Chief Stan Holt stated that the process to hire is highly competitive. Brown has already completed 40 hours of intense training with the department and will begin her ride-along training with veteran Batesville officers this week. Brown will go to the law enforcement academy in mid-March.
