Batesville, IN – The Batesville Bulldogs JV basketball team played 2 games this weekend, one against Lawrenceburg and the other vs. Southwestern.
On Friday, Batesville dug themselves a hole early, finding themselves down 24-9 at halftime to the Tigers. Despite this slow start, this game was still within range and the Bulldogs believed that.
After a seemingly good locker room talk, Batesville started to turn things around on both ends of the floor. They played hard in the 3rd but still found themselves down 16 heading into the fourth quarter.
This team had no quit in them on Friday and fought all the way back to bring the game within 6 points behind Levi Hunt’s 19 point performance, but it wasn’t enough to win after that big hole they dug themselves. Final score on Friday, 44-38 Tigers.
Camden Kaiser added 9 points, Braydin Hughes 5, Lincoln Garrett 3, and Brayden Gerrian with 2.
After that tough loss, the Bulldogs were looking to bounce back with a solid win vs. Southwestern. They came out of the gates ready to play, scoring 20 points in the first quarter and gaining a 9 point lead early in the game. After a slow second quarter, they held the lead at 23-13 and never looked back in the second half. Final score, 51-39 Bulldogs.
