Batesville, In. — The Batesville Farmers Market begins the 2019 season of freshness Saturday, May 4th from 8-11 am at the corner of Boehringer and Main Streets.
Highlights of the early season are:
- Flowers
- Garden plants
- Kale
- Lettuce
“This summer be sure to get the best watermelon, melon, tomatoes, and sweet corn in town! They have over 100 varieties of produce to select from,” Market Master Christy Ludwig says. “Throughout the year you can always find great quality produce, honey, meat, eggs, wood crafts, jelly, baked goods, mushrooms, and so much more!”
In the fall residents can expect things like apples, pumpkins, mums, and fall squash through October.
This year the market has partnered with Izzy’s Restaurant featuring a farmers’ produce item of the week offering a great recipe for you to indulge on. They also have music scheduled thru the season sponsored by the Batesville Area Arts Council, essential oil classes, B.A.R.C. days and kids day. Listen to Country 103.9 WRBI radio Saturday mornings to hear exciting events about the market.
