(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Council approved a tax abatement for Tim Weberding Woodworking Monday night.

Tim and Jill Weberding want to expand their business currently located on North Main Street downtown, and move it to the former Laker Electric and Plumbing building on State Road 129.

They’re making a $1.3 million investment on the property and $500,000 toward equipment purchases and upgrades.

It’s a 10-year property abatement on the real estate and a five-year abatement on the equipment.

The Weberdings plan to add 10 new jobs by 2029.

The City’s Economic Development Commission forwarded the request to Council with a favorable recommendation.
