BATESVILLE, IN — Economic Development Director Sarah Lamping gave Batesville City Council an update Monday night on the READI Grant application process.
She says they’re still gathering information at the local and regional levels as part of Accelerate Rural Indiana’s bid to land $50 million to be used around the three-county, four-city region toward addressing workforce development needs, talent attraction, and improving quality of life, among other items.
“It’s really a huge opportunity, and I feel very strongly about our steering committee and working with our planning group HWC, and that we’re really creating a great story about our communities and about our region,” said Lamping, who is urging residents to complete the region’s survey on www.accelerateruralindiana.com.
“It’s definitely a survey that we need to have completed so that we can stay on track with what community members are looking for,” she added.
In addition, an information session will be conducted by Zoom this Thursday from 5 until 7 pm. The public can ask questions about the READI grant program at the information session. A link to Thursday evening’s Zoom session can be found here.
